The web-based system was primarily designed to function between SDOTs and MPOs. It can also function between an MPO and local governments and is designed to fit in with existing systems. MPO-Telus is a customization of the system which is supposed to be similar to TELUS for the desktop.

The system is designed purely in Java which makes it platform independent. The ability to connect to existing databases is also a very important feature of the system. It also has a more advanced reporting. Since MPO-Telus was based upon the design of TELUS for the desktop, any data in existing TELUS systems can be very easily migrated to the web based version.
